Assouik defended his ISKA world title in Copenhagen in about thirty-five seconds, and then did not celebrate it. His friend and sparring partner Younes Sadi had lost his own title fight the same night with a broken shin.
DR followed him to the hospital, where he stayed close to thirty hours without sleep and gave the win to Sadi. Three years later Sadi fought the co-main at KOMBA 1.0, for the WBC European title.
